Locked Doors: Why?

Whenever a person reaches a point in life when now it is to go over to the next stage, then there is always a very difficult test that a person has to pass to go into the next stage. (Here, we are talking about a person who is climbing and progressing with regards to his Deen.) A person continues climbing then he reaches a blockage which is like a door that is blocking his progress forward. To continue to climb up and progress forward, a person will have to pass through that door but the door is closed…not only is it closed, but it is locked.

Why?

It is because when a person reaches that point and the door is locked, at that point Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala puts that person through a test. If the person passes the test, then the locked door is opened and he is allowed to continue climbing up. If the person fails the test, then the door remains closed and he has to go back down.

Then it is upon Allah – either Allah will give him another chance to come back to that door and go through another test to get it opened or as an option Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala can also say that, ‘you have to start all over again…go back down till the ground’ because of failing that test.

Sometimes that person never reaches that door again, that was his only chance and opportunity, Allah does not give him another chance. Sometimes Allah gives him depending on the Haal of that person, what he has done, and what Allah has written for him. That is all based on Taqdeer.

But the fact is, every time we reach a point where now we cannot go ahead until we pass that test.
